Q. Congratulations on being selected as a Global IT Leader! Before we begin, could you briefly introduce yourself and share your feelings about this achievement?

A. Hello, I’m Nur Zulzahirah from Malaysia. This is actually my first time participating in a competition like GITC! I feel truly honored to have made it to the final round and I never expected to stand on stage as a Global IT Leader. I’m incredibly happy!

Q. We can feel your happiness just from your response! I'm curious about what motivated you to participate in this year's GITC. Was it your interest in IT that led you to join?

A. Not really. To be honest, I don't particularly like IT. But I tried to adapt throughout the challenging process. Fortunately, both of my parents are teachers, so I had the opportunity to learn IT programs from a young age, which ultimately allowed me to participate in this year's GITC.

Q. Malaysia is known for having tough competition during the selection process. You must have worked hard to prepare. Was there someone who inspired or motivated you to keep pushing forward despite the challenges?

A. My family, especially my mother, was my biggest source of strength. Whenever I struggled with something, she always comforted me and guided me on how to overcome challenges when I couldn’t complete my tasks.

Q. Your mother’s encouragement and support must mean a lot to you. Thanks to her, you were named as 2024 GITC Global IT Leader! What are your future aspirations after GITC?

A. I want to become a doctor or a teacher. I want to be someone with a warm heart. Helping others brings me happiness, so I want to support people who face challenges in all aspects of life.

Q. That’s such a wonderful dream! We will always cheer for you :) Lastly, could you share a few words of encouragement for other youths with disabilities?

A. I hope you never give up. No matter what others say about you, don’t let it bother you. Just enjoy your life to the fullest!

We’ve had the pleasure of interviewing Nur Zulzahirah Binti Mohd Anwar, a participant from Malaysia with a warm heart for others. Despite saying she’s not particularly fond of IT, she is versatile and knows how to use tools like CapCut for video editing, not to say PowerPoint. Her journey to becoming a Global IT Leader in her first competition would not have been possible without her family’s love and support!

As the year-long journey of the 2024 GITC comes to an end, this final on-site interview with Global IT Leader Nur Zulzahirah Binti Mohd Anwar marks the conclusion of the final round. We’d like to thank all the participants and chaperones who took part in the national league, preliminary round, and final round.

See you at the 2025 GITC in Korea!
