Hello! Nice to meet you, Minseong and Kyungmin! Could you introduce yourselves first?

Minseong Hello, I am Minseong Park, currently studying Special Education at Daegu University.

Kyungmin Hello, I am Kyungmin Lee, a second grader at Yangil High School.

Minseong, could you share how you've been? Have you had any opportunities to use the skills you prepared for GITC?

Minseong I have been doing well. I remember using my PowerPoint skills during group project presentations in school.

So, you’ve been using the skills you learned at GITC! That’s impressive.

Did you two know each other before? How did you meet?

Kyungmin We practiced computer skills after school together and even went to school on weekends. That’s how we met.

Ah, practicing together must have been motivating. What aspect of Minseong inspired you the most to apply GITC?

Kyungmin The biggest motivation was when Minseong went to the UAE last year and won an award there.

Is there anything you are curious about from Minseong who experienced the competition?

Kyungmin I think I would be very nervous when I participate in an offline competition in the Final Round. How did you overcome the nervousness?

Minseong Honestly, I wasn’t very nervous.

(The unexpected answer left everyone curious about the secret.)

Wow, it’s not easy to stay calm during offline competitions! What’s your secret, Minseong? And do you have any further advice for Kyungmin?

Minseong Practicing is really the most important thing. I repeatedly solved past problems. I think the major factor that determines the ranking in the competition is mistakes. I hope you can perform without mistakes, just like in practice!

Kyungmin With the advice given, I will aim for the first place, as a future Yangil High School graduate following you!

Minseong’s advice seems very helpful for Kyungmin! How did you prepare for this GITC, Kyungmin?

Kyungmin Just like Minseong said, I kept solving past problems to improve on my weak points and practiced various categories diligently.

You have prepared very diligently! So, what does GITC mean to you, Kyungmin?

Kyungmin GITC seems to be an opportunity to raise awareness about disabilities for many people. I have some paralysis in my right arm, which is a bit inconvenient, but I think I am using my arm fully and well enough and it makes not much difference from using both arms.

Winning awards in various competitions has also boosted my confidence!

Confidence and seeing GITC as an opportunity is such a great mindset! You mentioned you want to become a special education teacher who can make opportunities for students. What kind of teacher do you want to be?

Kyungmin I was inspired to become a special education teacher by my school teacher, who always taught us that having a disability is not something to be ashamed of, but ignorance is.

He is strict but always stands up for us like a knight in shining armor when we face unfair situations, providing strong support like an umbrella. I want to be a kind and friendly teacher to students with disabilities just like him.

Kyungmin was a confident, kind, and intelligent student who likes to help friends!

Also, Kyungmin has a clear dream of becoming a special education teacher, inspired by a respected teacher.

Just like Minseong last year, we hope Kyungmin will create wonderful memories at GITC and become a warm hearted special education teacher. GITC Secretariat will be cheering for Kyungmin until that day!

Finally, let’s briefly watch the explanation of GITC by Youngmin Jang who is the teacher that inspired Kyoungmin to become a special education teacher.
